Thought this might interest the list, today whilst browsing in my local library I found a book of transcriptions of Parish registers for Widecombe in the Moor- The full title being" The register of Marriages, Baptisms and burials transcribed by Rev E. C. Wood and H Tapley-Soper" and published by Devon & Cornwall Record Society Very few images on ordinary parish churches can be definitely identified with the Bestiary, however, beyond the everyday images of, for example, lions, eagles and dragons. I suspect that the Bestiary was rather less influential in church carving than is generally supposed.
The first items to be uploaded in this phase are the pages from the Leusdon Burials Register from (Catalogue Number C). As with the baptisms, all the names have been transcribed and the Burial Book pages scanned, so the burials are searchable in the same way as other items in the archive and will be picked up as part of the general.
